Here is a recent update on the entrance of Dick Zimmer to the Republican primary selecting the challenger to Senator Frank “The Lout” Lautenberg.
| The Liberal Wing of the NJ GOP has recruited Dick Zimmer to move back to New Jersey to run against Dr. Murray Sabrinin the Republican Primary. Below are the details that show what his previous statewide campaign did to the Republican Party in New Jersey (back in 1996 when the NJ GOP was at its zenith). Dick Zimmer’s losing campaign cost a Republican House seat and EVERY incumbent Republican running for re-election to the House did worse than 2 years prior, and EVERY incumbent Democrat running for re-election to the House did better than 2 years prior. Dick Zimmer was a disastrous candidate back in 1996. The voters are not stupid: when they have a choice between a liberal Democrat or a liberal Republican, they will chose the liberal Democrat!
News Release Dick Zimmer Cost NJ GOP In 1996Failed ‘96 Zimmer Campaign Cost GOP House SeatJersey City, NJ – New Jersey conservative Republican leader Dr. Murray Sabrin, the Garden State’s strongest advocate of limited government and individual freedom and candidate for United States Senate, highlighted the impact of Dick Zimmer’s losing Senate campaign in 1996 to the New Jersey Republican Party. The New Jersey Republicans lost the 8th Congressional Seat during Dick Zimmer’s losing campaign at the top of the ticket. Every Republican incumbent running for the House of Representatives in 1996 received fewer votes with Dick Zimmerlosing at the top of the New Jersey ticket than they did in 1994. In addition, every Democrat incumbent running for the House of Representatives in 1996 received more votes with Dick Zimmerlosing at the top of the New Jersey ticket than they did in 1994. This year there are two Republican Congressional Districts with no incumbent running (the 3rd and the 7th) and we cannot afford to have Dick Zimmer cost us these two districts. Dr. Murray Sabrin said, “Dick Zimmer is a proven Loser with New Jersey voters. He cost the Republican Party a Congressional seat when he lost by more than 10% back in 1996 to Bob Torricelli. The New Jersey Republican Party cannot afford to have a Liberal Losing Lobbyist at the top of the New Jersey ticket this year.” Sabrin continued, “New Jersey voters spoke loud and clear in 1996; if there is choice between an extremely liberal Democrat (Torricelli) or an extremely liberal Republican (Zimmer) – they’ll chose the Democrat. We need to offer the voters a real choice in 2008 – an extremely liberal Democrat (Lautenberg) versus a Constitutional Conservative (Sabrin).” Facts about Dick Zimmer’s Losing Campaign in 1996 Loss of Republican House Seat

“As a high-priced Washington Liberal Lobbyist, Dick Zimmer has a lot more in common with Frank Lautenberg than he does with New Jersey taxpayers. He is pro-abortion, against gun rights, and was hand-selected by a few liberals to run last minute. The only real difference between Dick Zimmer and Frank Lautenberg is Dick Zimmer is a three-time Loser and is a Washington Lobbyist.“Sabrin continued, “Dick Zimmerhas a lot of explaining to do with Republican voters!” Murray Sabrin is a successful entrepreneur working in commercial real estate, portfolio management, and economic research.
